FAQ
We get it, sewer inspection technology isn’t always straightforward. Whether you're wondering how PipeAid works, what it integrates with, or how to get started, you're in the right place. Below are answers to the questions we hear most often from municipalities, engineers, and contractors.
PipeAid is a plug-and-play coding solution that enhances your existing software and systems, accelerating sewer pipe inspections. Its computer vision technology analyzes CCTV videos to identify, code, and standardize inspection data. By automating coding, field crews can focus on capturing quality video to cover more pipes in less time. PipeAid is a Data as a Service (DaaS) model that amplifies the power of your existing tech stack with no need to learn new software or change your processes. It enriches coding data, transforming it into spatially enabled information, accessible via your preferred database, and mapped as a digital twin in GIS.
PipeAid is built by experts and trusted by industry leaders. Developed by a Civil Engineer with 17+ years of hands-on inspection experience, PipeAid was born from a vision to eliminate industry inefficiencies by creating a more resilient, scalable approach to infrastructure management. Proudly backed by decades of expertise, PipeAid leverages 20+ years of training data from millions of miles of U.S. sewer inspections to ensure unmatched precision and reliability. Trusted by civil engineers nationwide, PipeAid adheres to NASSCO standards, streamlining inspections to help communities build smarter, more efficient infrastructure.
PipeAid processes any type of video format and does not require an existing database. Once the video is run through PipeAid and reviewed by NASSCO-certified technicians, the data is uploaded into your existing software. We incorporate GIS in our deliverable identifying the condition of your sewer assets, geospatially locating each defect along the pipe with an image.
PipeAid is designed for municipalities, utility owners, and engineering firms responsible for maintaining and inspecting sewer systems. It benefits teams conducting pipe inspections, asset management professionals, and anyone involved in sewer infrastructure planning, maintenance, and repair. By automating and streamlining inspections, PipeAid helps organizations reduce costs, improve efficiency, and ensure reliable, sustainable infrastructure management.
You pay as you go. Meaning we charge per linear foot, so you only pay for the amount of pipe you run. No need to buy-in to additional subscriptions, software, or packages.

PipeAid works across systems to enhance existing technology, providing valuable information for decision-making in three easy steps: upload it, code it, act on it.
PipeAid’s model reviews CCTV footage and identifies NASSCO common codes. Data is then rigorously QA’d by PipeAid’s NASSCO-certified technicians to ensure quality database records and a perfectly coded digital twin.
If a human can detect a defect, so can PipeAid. It can identify structural, O&M, I/I, taps, and abandoned inspections with 88% accuracy. If a defect isn’t recognized (i.e. racoon in the pipe), it is flagged for our NASSCO-certified technicians to review for 100% accurately coded data.
